We have this thing called a health visitor here that's supposed to come round and give advice - I found the whole thing annoying and useless tbh and because of Covid I just got annoying phone calls, I guess that's better than visits tho! Anyway they have to tell you about safe sleep and I listened and said that's all fine we are doing swaddling in the snoo, then explained what the snoo was because she had no idea. Well rested wee ones she is a certified sleep coach and breastfeeding consultant!Īh no! I mean I guess that would happen because we are told very differently, although no excuse for that behaviour. Natural Born parenting they specialize in pregnancy and pediatric health! I highly recommend these Instagram accounts for new parents, or those who are still waiting for their LO to be born!: I have used the swaddelini and the Nested Bean Zen one swaddle and loved them! Sadly my baby is very long and outgrew them quickly! I took the tummy/arm swaddle band out of it and that is what I am using to swaddle my baby with while I wait for the Swaddle Sleeves, Baby Brezza anti rollover sleep swaddle and the Anna and Eve Swaddle Strap (which I will use as a belly band) to arrive! What a time to have a scare! It's going to be a long, anxiety filled night for this mommy!Įdit: Thank you all for the wonderful advice! Every baby is different! The recommended age to stop swaddling is between 2 and 4 months! Whenever your baby shows signs of breaking out or rolling over is a good time to transition out of the swaddle and into something more appropriate depending on their startle reflex, which is usually something that isn't fully integrated until 6 months (starts integration between 2-4 months)! The swaddle sleeves is great for baby's who still have a strong startle reflex, as well as the merlin suit! Please, I am begging you, make sure those swaddles don't budge when your baby stretches, and if they do, you either need a new swaddle or it's time to transition out of them ❤ Almost had my worst fears become a reality. Cloth swaddles have never worked for us because this very reason, and I'm super paranoid my baby would suffocate themselves with them. My child only sleeps with one arm swaddled as they like to escape the wrap, and can do it easily. My partner (who is literally in the next room with two different monitors turned up on high) is a light sleeper and he didn't even wake up hearing this sound. Had I been asleep, I wouldn't have heard this because I'm a deep sleeper. I rushed into my baby's nursery to see they've managed to pull their velcro swaddle over their face and were struggling to breathe. I heard no stirring from my partner, but my gut told me I needed to go check on my baby. It was sharp and quick and sounded forceful. The fact that these are reasonably priced and they offer a return policy, you really can’t go wrong and recommend them to all my new mom friends !It's currently 3 A.M, but I wanted to write this post because I just had a huge scare with my 3 month old.Ī few minutes ago, while I was across the house enjoying some me time, I heard a very faint gasp. I don’t think any product is a magic solution but this along with a good sleep routine I think goes a long way. ![]() I do want to say to those sleep deprived parents. Because he is such an active sleeper I think I am going to order the weighted footies as well! He is sleeping 7 hours a night (also thank you Moms on Call) and I really think the support he gets from the gentle weight is helping him. Well here he is at 6 weeks living his best free armed life in his NB sleep sack. On a whim I decided to see how he would do in a sack because he was constantly trying to break loose and figured I’d try another NB product since he took so well to the swaddle. My friend let us borrow her NestedBean swaddle and he did the best with that one out of the many we tried. He is a very active baby and is one of the 1% who truly did NOT like to be swaddled. ![]() ![]() Our son is 8 weeks old and has used both the swaddle and now the sack. Try it and you won’t regret it! I know all babies are different but the Nested Bean swaddle and sacks truly have been game changers for us.
